The Magic of Black Girl Podcast

Updated: Jan 5, 2021

If you're looking for a podcast that's entertaining, raw, real and full of differing opinions and stories all from the viewpoint of five amazing women then Black Girl Podcast may be for you.

Instantly. That's how long it took for me to fall in love with Black Girl Podcast (BGP). A little over a year ago five awesome, black women in the entertainment industry uploaded their first podcast episode entitled "Hi." Gia Peppers (@giapeppers), Scottie Beam (@scottiebeam), Sapphira (sapphiraem), Alysha P (@AlyshaP) and Bex (blvckdaria) are the leading ladies of BGP; all with different personalities, opinions, and stories that perfectly create the magic of their podcast.

Topics ranging from: music, careers, success, failures, spirituality, family, love, relationships, heartbreak and so much more drive the overall relatable scope of the podcast. You'll find yourself listening, laughing out loud and throwing in your two cents as if you were actually sitting there with them- I find myself blurting out reoccurring phrases like "Wow, that is so me!". They're open and honest without giving away too much, they give you enough without making it feel like they didn't say much at all. If that makes sense.

Listening to the podcast, you can tell the ladies are all actual friends and support each other. They don't always agree with one another and they all have different experiences, but that's what makes the podcast so enjoyable to listen to. They cheer for each other and want each other to be great, but they also let each other know it's okay to cry, feel, and just be human. With each episode, you get the sense that the podcast becomes an open space for healing, not only for the BGP women but also for their listeners.

From the first episode to the 27th episode, you can hear the growth in the lives of each and every one of them. And the ladies are inspiring both on and off the podcast!

Looking for a good laugh or a good cry? Looking for a group of women that share your same struggles and triumphs? Looking for advice and encouragement? Looking for some poppin' black girls in the entertainment industry?

Give Black Girl Podcast a listen!

Thanks for reading, and don't forget... Be great! xoxo.
